Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's video model. On Effect Video, enter a prompt, add a photo if you like, and pick 480p to 4k and a 4 to 15 second length first.
By Effect VideoUpdated

Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's video model for turning a text prompt, with an optional reference photo, into short clips. On Effect Video you choose a length of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 or 15 seconds and 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4k output, and see the total credits before you generate. This guide also covers what the official sources say about it and what creators have shared from their own tests.
ByteDance introduced Seedance 2.0 through the Seedance 2.0 official launch blog from ByteDance Seed. The model also appears on the Dreamina Seedance 2.0 Official Release page from BytePlus and in the KIE Seedance 2.0 interface documentation.
Dreamina is ByteDance's own service for the model; the notes below about Dreamina describe that service, not Effect Video. On Effect Video, you write a text prompt and can add one reference photo. The integration supports lengths of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 or 15 seconds and 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4k output.
Official updates from Dreamina AI on X show how availability has grown:
Filmmakers, artists and online communities have tried Seedance 2.0 on action scenes, character consistency and side-by-side comparisons. These are their own observations, not Effect Video tests.
Tyler Smith of Curious Refuge published Is Seedance 2.0 Overhyped? An Honest AI Video Review on 2026-02-20, with a companion video, Seedance 2.0 Is INSANE… But There's a Catch. He reported convincing physical weight and continuity in complex actions, and noted soft edges, facial distortions and weak detail in distant crowds. On 2026-02-20, Curious Refuge also shared head-to-head impressions against Kling 3.0, writing that "Seedance 2.0’s physics feel stronger right away" and that movement looked more natural in bigger physical actions.
On 2026-06-15, JSFILMZ published Seedance 2.0 vs Seedance 2.0 Mini: Is the Price Difference Worth It?, a comparison of the standard and Mini versions. More YouTube videos, X posts and Reddit threads are shown further down this page and in the references.
Seedance 2.0 is available on Effect Video: open the generator with Seedance 2.0 selected. Enter a text prompt and optionally add one reference photo to guide the clip. The AI Dance effect page also lists Seedance 2.0 among its model options.
The generator offers lengths of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 or 15 seconds and resolutions of 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4k. Sound can be switched on or off.

Live-action cinematic sequence. An attractive younger woman in a fitted neutral dress enters the dining room from the hallway and stops halfway down the long table. The elderly man remains seated at the head, not looking up. The camera slowly pushes in from the far end of the table. She pulls out a chair but does not sit. Silence stretches. We cut to a medium close-up of her. She says evenly: “You said seven.” He finally looks up. Calmly: “It’s six fifty-eight.” Cut to black.

Scene setup (0–5 sec) Backstage of a small theater. Warm practical lights. Close-up of three actors standing in a tight circle, nervous energy. Camera handheld, intimate. Soft ambient crowd noise in distance. Actor 1 (whispering): “This isn’t just another audition.” Actor 2 (half-smile): “No. This one sees everything.” Mid shot (5–10 sec) Stage lights flare on. Curtains slowly part. The three step forward into a bright, cinematic spotlight. Camera shifts to smooth dolly-in. Actor 3 (steady, confident): “Seedance Two… record this.” Final beat (10–15 sec) Quick cuts: intense eye contact, subtle emotion shift, one tear forming, one restrained laugh, one sharp breath. Ultra-detailed facial expressions. Dramatic score rises. Actor 1 (softly, to camera): “Let’s show it what real feels like.” Cut to black. Low bass hit. Title card: SEEDANCE 2.
